Artventure at 'Taste Buds' for Tasting Australia
May 15, 2017The Sources of Food
In 2017 Tasting Australia introduced a new section to their annual event called "Taste Buds". Taste Buds conducted events for children throughout the week-long festival of food, to engage kids through learning about the sources of food, gardening, cooking, eating and food art. Artventure was asked to host kids art lessons based on the sources of food.
Artventure was allocated a gorgeous glasshouse full of colour, surrounded by raised vegetable gardens, chickens, and a life size cow (covered in blackboard paint to draw on!). In conjunction with other activities run throughout the week, I conducted 5 Artventure sessions over 2 days and each child took home their awesome artworks.
I put together a little competition on my Facebook Page to win tickets to the event and I was thrilled to meet the winner and his brother (pictured below) in one of my sessions (not to mention my pride seeing them with their awesome artworks!)
I was super impressed by the scale, organisation and professionalism of the Tasting Australia event, especially Kitchen Stage Management who I dealt with directly.
I'd like to say THANK YOU to the wonderful sponsors and helpers from KR Castlemaine, San Remo, and Bone Health Foundation.
Here's an article about the event for your interest.
Happy growing, cooking, eating.
